The Sandpiper is located in Stinson Beach, a quiet seaside community less than an hour north of San Francisco. Just a short stroll from your door three and a half miles of wide, sandy beach invites you to forget your cares and relax. Or turn the other direction and Mount Tamalpais with its beautiful trails, spectacular views and lush redwood forests stands above, between you and everything you left behind. Muir Woods is just a few minutes south by car or a couple hours hike; the Point Reyes National Seashore is minutes north. Walk from your room or cabin to the beaches and trails of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and Mount Tamalpais State Park. The area features year-round activities such as hiking, biking (road and trail), surfing, kite boarding, boogie boarding, skim boarding, beach-combing, horseback riding, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, sailboarding, rock climbing, bird watching, seal watching, and tidepool viewing. And, of course, doing nothing is always an option. The town features three good restaurants within easy walking distance of the Sandpiper. Whether you're stepping away from your cozy room or cabin and its fireplace to walk down to the beach between winter rainstorms or sitting in the shade of our pepper tree with a good book and a glass of wine after a day in the sun on the beach or on the trails, the Sandpiper may be just what you need for a quick getaway or extended stay.

Our rooms and cabins are tastefully furnished and contain everything to make your stay comfortable, including in-room microwaves and refrigerators, coffee and tea, gas fireplaces, tv/dvd, wirelesss internet, comfortable queen size beds with thick cozy comforters, and beach towels. A very snug place to curl up, even in a winter storm. The charming ninety year old redwood cabins are clean and feature well-equipped kitchens and a cozy atmosphere that feels like home.

Accommodations include: Queen-sized beds with warm, cozy comforters. Quiet, clean rooms with gas fireplaces, and coffee/tea set-ups, microwaves and refrigerators, some with kitchenettes. Vine-covered redwood cabins with full kitchens. Cable television and dvd players in all rooms. Our private garden for our guests' relaxation: a great place to sit with your morning coffee or tea or a glass of wine after a day at the beach or on the trails, a pleasant barbecue and picnic area, a little piece of solitude.
